Herfy's on Sunset in the Renton Highlands is now gone. It wasn't the original Herfy's but it wasn't too bad. Santa Fe Mexican grill will be opening in their spot.
In downtown Renton, Burger Town has opened to good reviews, and indeed the burgers are awesome. They also have wraps, including a really good balsamic chicken wrap.
Daphne's, Renton's only Greek restaurant, of the fast food variety, is out of business.
Too bad. The food was pretty good, the prices were low, and I'll miss them
In the space that was Fin N' Bones is now Stix N' Stones. I guess they saved money on letters?
Haven't tried them yet, but intend to soon
In the Uwajimaya's Renton Village, I've eaten a few times at the Lemon Grass Vietnamese restaurant, and it's awesome. It's directly behind Applebees. Next door to it is Genki Sushi, which I haven't tried but hear great things about. I'll get there.

Loveeeee burgertown. They have the best burgersss
Wow, we just ate at Dapne's this past Sunday. Food was good for fast greek. I also notice that the Pizza Man is now called Pizza Mart. Is it the same owner/place?

Looks like there will be a Mucho Burrito opening in The Landing. The sign was in a storefront across the street from Thai 65 and Izakaya.

It's new ownership but the same menu at Pizza Mart formerly Pizza Man. I went. It was OK. But I really liked Pizza Man. They still have a Bellevue shop.
i used to work at daphne's and i can definitely say that the closing of the restaurant was a complete shock to all my c0-workers. we made good money and we had weekly caterings. unfortunately, there's a lot of things that happened behind the scenes that lead to the abrupt closing of daphne's.
Here's a story from Nation's Restaurant News about Daphne's bankruptcy filing: http://www.nrn.com/article/daphnes-greek-cafe-be-sold. I also ate there last weekend. The filing was on Monday, so we got in just under the line, JRRII.
Love to hear the latest in eateries from you - sad about the closings of businesses though.
I too love the Burgertown - great prices and super fresh food from nice folks - can't beat that at all
Pizza Mart is 60% of what Pizza Man was - it's cheaper, but the ingredients aren't as good. The pizza sizes are smaller too. It is a good alternative to Pizza Hut, but it's not gourmet.
Glad to see Burgertown is a good non-chain alternate to Five Guys. Long live local food!
Noticed that Pike Place Bakery is going in next to the Pizza Mart. From the website it should be open tomorrow (7/28). www.pikeplacebakery.com

I'm going to miss Daphne's. It was a cut above the typical fast food chain in quality and variety. The Landing location seemed to be doing really good business, based on the several visits we'd made in recent months.
Darn, Daphne's just opened a little while ago. A chain of Greek restaurants is unusual--I don't think the cuisine has really penetrated the US market outside of a few big cities such as NYC or Chicago.
You guys need to blog about Harvey's Billiards. I believe it's a new location, and it's open until 3am, which is a boon to insomniacs like me.
The food at Daphne's was a nice change over the usual "fast food". Not the finest Greek I've ever had but good food and more importantly, the customer service was excellent. The manager/owner? (not sure his title or even his name but the guy that seemed to be running the show) was esp. helpful and the employees were too. I usually came in w/ my squirmy toddler and everyone there went out of their way to help me out- bringing me a highchair, getting my drink for me, etc. And the employees smiled at you! Seriously, so many places today they're either scowling or staring off into space. Even if we get another Greek place back at the Landing, I won't be happy unless it's another place that's got the same great service.
Hey! Stumbled on your blog. Yes - we love Lemongrass, too!
